Edge Device
This section introduces the Edge-Device (hereinafter referred to as Measuring Device) in the context of the optiMEAS ecosystem. In particular, commissioning and configuration are discussed.
Configuration by the user
Configuration by the user is essential for successful operation of the measuring device in a variety of scenarios.
The configuration - stored on the measuring device in the form of plain text files in the directory
/sdi/config
consists of, among other things
- the platform configuration (which includes, for example, the network and cloud connection)
- application configuration (also referred to below as smartCORE or measurement configuration)
- and the system configuration
and can
- either directly via the optiCONTROL application installed on the user PC via the local network
- or conveniently browser-based via optiCLOUD
be modified.
The cloud-based configuration is asynchronous, i.e. the configuration initially stored by the user is requested by the measuring device at a later point in time and installed on it. This time depends on both the network connection and the set ping interval.
Configuration with optiCONTROL is only possible if the measuring device is connected directly (via a local network) to the user PC.
